Earth Advantage Inc., an Oregon 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, is the premier provider of green building solutions in a carbon constrained world. We certify homes as a third-party verifier for both the ENERGY STAR® and LEED for Homes® programs, as well as for Earth Advantage’s proprietary residential, commercial, communities and remodeling programs. In addition, Earth Advantage, Inc., provides green design and consulting services, conducts education & training seminars, and is a key contributor to the development of green building standards. We are well established with over 400 builders, remodelers, and sponsors throughout Oregon, Southwest Washington and Northern California, and licensed partners in the seven states of New England.
The Director of Marketing is responsible for all aspects of promoting the organization and brand, and must be able to operate effectively as both strategist and tactician in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial work environment. Areas of responsibility include brand development, media campaigns, collateral development, copy editing, web site overhaul, design and maintenance, and partner relations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan that incorporates relevant market research, well-defined targets, milestones and deliverables, and qualitative and quantitative metrics to evaluate results.
• Promote Earth Advantage brand awareness through:
o media campaigns (print, online, e-mail, radio, TV)
o co-marketing initiatives with builders, sponsors, and program providers
o trade shows and events
o marketing collateral
• Support the growth of new and existing programs with online and print collateral.
• Strengthen relationships with builders, sponsors, program providers, and licensees through creative initiatives that achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Measure effectiveness of marketing plan and brand position, and implement continuous improvements.
Essential Qualities and Skills
• Demonstrated ability to deliver superior, innovative marketing services from the ground up.
• Strong sense of ownership and pride in work products.
• Well-versed in deploying creative solutions, e.g. “guerilla marketing” campaigns.
• Highly collaborative nature.
• Superior writing and editing skills.
• Highly proficient with web-based media and graphical design.
• Solid experience in creating and executing media campaigns
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-starter happy with a hands-on approach.
• Experience in real estate, construction, trades, green building, energy efficiency and related environmental fields is highly desirable.
Primary Qualifications
• Four-year university degree, preferably with a business or marketing focus
• 5-7 years account management/marketing experience with P & L responsibility, preferably in the B2B sector
• Proven leadership and management skills
• Technically savvy
