The Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence provides Air Force leaders with the comprehensive expertise and professional services necessary to protect, preserve, restore, develop and sustain the nation's environmental and installation resources.

The Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence, with headquarters at Brooks City-Base, Texas, is a field operating agency of the Air Force Civil Engineer. AFCEE provides a complete range of technical and professional services in environmental and installation planning and engineering, and military housing construction and privatization.

Sustainable development (http://www.afcee.brooks.af.mil/eq/programs/progpage.asp?PID=27) is the process of planning, designing and constructing facilities that cause no overall environmental burden. In this way we ensure the "best fit" of the built environment to the natural environment. AFCEE provides technical resources to support AF units on their journey to sustainability.
