
BOSTON, Mass. -- The Green Building Impact Report 2008, written by GreenerBuildings.com executive editor Rob Watson, looks at how the LEED standard has improved the environmental impact of buildings in the last six years -- and how much progress remains to be made.

BOSTON, Mass. -- A new study from McGraw-Hill Construction says the potential for continued growth in the green building market is huge and projects a possible tripling in the value of eco-friendly construction starts to reach as much as $140 billion.

The market for sustainable design has passed the tipping point and is
rapidly becoming mainstream. ENR's first Top Green Design Firms is an
attempt to bypass the marketing and hype and measure the market by
ranking designers based on their 2007 revenue from projects that were
registered and actively seeking certification from major third-party
environmental standards or ratings organizations. The ENR Top 100 Green
Designers generated $1.74 billion in revenue from such projects in
2007, $1.62 billion domestically and $121.2 million abroad.
Ths publication, available for purchase, includes a listing of the top 100 firms with information on revenue and market data, and lists of the top five green facility designs covering a variety of types of buildings.
